1. Free trial
Your first estate as Personal Representative includes a 14-day free trial. No second free trial applies when you open additional estates. During the trial you can explore the workspace; after the trial, a paid subscription is required to keep that estate open for normal use.
2. Subscriptions
After trial (or after the grace window on an additional estate), Estate Vault Standard renews monthly at the then-current per-estate price unless you cancel. Payment is processed by Stripe. The merchant descriptor may show the Stripe business name (for example FRPL) while the product is Estate Vault Standard.
3. How to cancel
Cancel anytime in the Stripe customer portal (Settings → Billing → Manage billing in the app). Cancellation stops future renewals. Access for that estate typically continues through the end of the paid period already charged, then follows lapse rules below unless you renew.
Closing an estate for records (view/export-only) is separate from canceling Stripe billing. If administration is finished, cancel the subscription so you are not billed for an estate you no longer need open.
4. Grace period and lapse
If payment fails or a required subscription is missing, there is a 7-day grace period with warnings. After grace, Personal Representative, family, helper, and auction access for that estate pause until the subscription is renewed. Your recorded data is not automatically deleted because billing lapsed.
5. Refunds
Because Estate Vault is a digital subscription that unlocks ongoing access to estate records and tools:
- Unused prepaid time after a clear billing error (duplicate charge, wrong estate charged, or similar) — contact support promptly; we will review and refund or credit through Stripe when the error is confirmed.
- Change of mind after a successful paid period has begun — refunds are generally not provided for time already made available, except where required by law.
- Trial period — no charge if you cancel before the trial converts and no paid period has started.
If a refund is issued, it returns to the original payment method via Stripe and may take several business days to appear on your statement.
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before filing a chargeback so we can help. Unresolved abuse of chargebacks may result in suspension of Service access.
7. Price changes
We may change prices for future billing periods. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or email associated with the subscription where practical. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance for subsequent periods.
8. Contact
Billing questions: use Manage billing in the app or Estate Vault / fiduciarylog.com support channels.
